I would like to take this
opportunity to thank you for partnering with us this year at the 6th
Annual Tournament of Hope. Your commitment to the tournament this year was
appreciated and we are conscious of the sacrifice your company has made to
support the Gateway of Hope in all its endeavours. This year with your help and
help of all of our staff and volunteers the Tournament of Hope was enjoyed by
60 golfers and raised over $14,000.
Your generous support will
be caringly invested into people of this community that need hope and support.
The Gateway of Hope has the privilege of providing an emergency shelter with
beds for 30 community guests as well as a long term second stage Opportunities
Program for 25 program participants.
While a program participant is staying at the Gateway of Hope a personal
advisor will assist them in assessing their strengths, weaknesses and barriers.
Then they will partner with them to explore opportunities to learn new life
skills that will help them towards career employment and sustainable housing. Our
kitchen serves three meals a day to those in our Emergency Shelter as well as
one meal per day to the community. The state of the art training kitchen makes
it possible for us to offer classes on the basics of cooking as well as our Cooks
Training course; equipping people with new skills and preparing them to make a
successful reintegration back to sustainable employment.
